Wejherowski magistrat dał budynek pod bibliotekę profesora Labudy
Ma być pomnikiem wielkiego Kaszuby i miejscem spotkań – zbiór profesora Gerarda Labudy doczekał się swojego domu. Miejski samorząd Wejherowa podarował wejherowskiemu starostwu powiatowemu budynek, w którym powstanie biblioteka profesora Labudy.
– Chcemy, aby ten obiekt pełnił także inne funkcje, ma być miejscem spotkań twórców, turystów i młodzieży szkolnej – zdradza nam dyrektor muzeum, Tomasz Fopke.
Liczący ponad 25 tysięcy pozycji zbiór kaszubskiego historyka od 5 lat znajduje się w magazynie wejherowskiego Muzeum Piśmiennictwa i Muzyki Kaszubsko – Pomorskiej. W piątek przedstawiciele władz miasta i powiatu spotkali się u notariusza, by podpisać umowę darowizny – należąca do miasta działka wraz z budynkiem tuż przy bramie wjazdowej do muzeum stanie się siedzibą biblioteki. Teraz budynek czeka gruntowny remont. Rozpoczęły się już prace nad projektem budowlanym i uzyskaniem pozwolenia na budowę. Modernizację wspólnymi siłami przeprowadzą oba samorządy, a środków na ten cel szukać będą w unijnych funduszach. – Jesteśmy już po rozmowach z marszałkiem województwa i wiemy że mamy realną szansę na dofinansowanie – mówi wejherowski starosta, Gabriela Lisius. Budowa biblioteki będzie kosztować co najmniej 2 miliony złotych. Prace mają ruszyć na początku przyszłego roku, a ich zakończenie planowane jest do roku 2018.
