Wejherowo nie przystąpi na razie do projektu Roweru Metropolitalnego
Wejherowo nie przystąpi na razie do projektu Roweru Metropolitalnego. Decyzji radnych w tej sprawie sprzeciwiły się władze miasta. Chodzi o projekt, do którego w połowie kwietnia przystąpiło 14 pomorskich samorządów, jak Stężyca, Rumia, Puck i Władysławowo.
Razem chcą udostępnić do wypożyczania 3,5 tysiąca rowerów. Przystąpić do tego projektu chcą także radni Wejherowa – większość optowała za tym pomysłem na ostatniej sesji rady miasta. Usłyszeli jednak, że Wejherowa na to nie stać, co wzburzyło m.in. radnego Mateusza Schmidta. Koszty to jedno – odpowiada zastępca prezydenta Wejherowa Beata Rutkiewicz – zwracając uwagę że o szczegółach technicznych projektu niewiele w tej chwili wiadomo. Władze miasta proponują wrócić do dyskusji o rowerze metropolitalnym gdy kształt tego systemu zostanie już wypracowany. Zwolennicy projektu z kolejnym działaniami czekają na oficjalne pismo od prezydenta Wejherowa do przewodniczącego rady – o niemożliwości zrealizowania przyjętej uchwały.
