W szpitalu w Słupsku powstał Oddział Transplantacji Szpiku
W szpitalu specjalistycznym w Słupsku powstał Oddział Transplantacji Szpiku. To drugi tego typu ośrodek na Pomorzu, po Uniwersyteckim Centrum Klinicznym w Gdańsku. By można było wykonywać przeszczepy brakuje jeszcze banku komórek i tkanek.
Oddział Transplantacji Szpiku wydzielono z powierzchni Oddziału Hematologicznego na II piętrze Budynku D szpitala w Słupsku. Potrzebna była gruntowna modernizacja z wymianą instalacji i zmianą układu pomieszczeń. Teraz jest ich 27, w tym 5 izolatek zapewniających wysoki standard czystości powietrza. Jednocześnie może tam przebywać sześciu pacjentów. Utworzenie i doposażenie oddziału kosztowało 1 mln 700 tys zł. Blisko 30 procent przekazał samorząd województwa, a ponad 800 tys zł miasto Słupsk. Szpital dołożył niecałe sto tys zł, resztę pokryły samorządy ziemi słupskiej. Otwarcie oddziału transplantacji to pierwszy etap prac służących przeszczepom szpiku w słupskim szpitalu. Kolejny to przebudowa pomieszczeń i zakup sprzętu na potrzeby banku komórek i tkanek. Szpital ma już dokumentację i pozwolenie na budowę. Szacowany koszt to półtora mln zł. W placówce liczą, że pierwsze przeszczepy szpiku w Słupsku zostaną wykonane na początku przyszłego roku.
