W Rumi jubileusz 30-lecia świętowała Szkoła Podstawowa nr 9
Największa Szkoła Podstawowa w Rumi świętowała w sobotę 30-lecie istnienia. Przez ten czas szkolne mury opuściło ponad 5 tysięcy 200. absolwentów, placówka uzyskała 11 certyfikatów, m.in. jakości edukacji oraz wsparcia uczniów z dysleksją.
„Dziewiątka” realizuje również specjalny program nauczania matematyki i wychowania fizycznego, a jej uczniowie mają możliwość poznawania języka kaszubskiego – w klasach od pierwszej do szóstej rodnej mowy uczy się 48 osób. Od ćwierć wieku szkołą kieruje Lucyna Oglęcka, która niedawno została wybrana na kolejną kadencję. Pani dyrektor życzyłaby sobie lepszej infrastruktury sportowej i większego dostępu nauczycieli i uczniów do nowych technologii. Marzenia mogą się spełnić – wiadomo już, że w ramach budżetu obywatelskiego w szkole zostanie wybudowana sportowa bieżnia i skocznia. Na jubileuszowej uroczystości Rada Rodziców przekazała 2 tys. zł na zakup tablicy multimedialnej – prosząc przy okazji o wsparcie tego projektu przez Urząd Miasta. Zapewniał wiceburmistrz Rumi – Marcin Kurkowski. Miejski samorząd pozyskał ostatnio 2 i pół miliona złotych na edukacyjny projekt – zakładający m.in. doposażenie szkolnych pracowni.
