W Redzie trzeba będzie poczekać do wiosny na nową bieżnię. Modernizację stadionu opóźniły m.in. deszcze. Rozpoczęte latem prace potrwają o kilka miesięcy dłużej niż zakładano.
Po ich zakończeniu na stadionie Miejskiego Ośrodka Sportu i Rekreacji będą lepsze warunki do uprawiania biegów, skoku w dal czy pchnięcia kulą. Będzie tam można organizować zawody o randze mistrzowskiej. Ale to dopiero na wiosnę – mówi burmistrz Redy Krzysztof Krzemiński. Modernizacja redzkiego stadionu kosztuje prawie 3 mln zł. Miejski samorząd pozyskał na ten cel ponad milion 200 tys zł z Ministerstwa Sportu i Turystyki.
