Ten wybitny historyk urodził się w gminie Luzino i tam spędził dzieciństwo. Mimo studiów i pracy w Poznaniu, nigdy nie zerwał kontaktów z Luzinem, a jego życzeniem było zostać tam pochowanym.
– Pieniądze na ten cel pochodzić będą ze zbiórki publicznej – mówi Maria Krośnicka, dyrektor biblioteki w Luzinie.
W tym roku, który Zrzeszenie Kaszubsko-Pomorskie ogłosiło rokiem Gerarda Labudy, przypada jego 100 rocznica urodzin. Mieszkańcy Luzina chcą ją uczcić wznosząc swojemu rodakowi pomnik. Jest już założone konto, na które można wpłacać środki na budowę pomnika profesora Gerarda Labudy, jaki ma stanąć w Luzinie na początku października. – Zainteresowanie tym projektem wśród mieszkańców Luzina i okolic jest ogromne – komentuje dyrektor Maria Krośnicka. Dyrektor biblioteki w Luzinie podkreśla jednocześnie, że społeczny charakter zbiórki funduszy na pomnik profesora Gerarda Labudy to dobra okazja do integracji Kaszubów.
