W Kościerzynie znikną nazwy ulic Hanki Sawickiej i Jedności Robotniczej
Zdecydowali o tym na ostatniej sesji radni miasta. To realizacja tzw. ustawy dekomunizacyjnej.
– Uchwała poprzedzona była konsultacjami w Instytucie Pamięci Narodowej – tłumaczy burmistrz Michał Majewski.
Kościerscy radni większością głosów zdecydowali, że ulica Hanki Sawickiej będzie nosiła imię Młodokaszubów, a Jedności Robotniczej przemianują na Inżynierską. Ustawa dekomunizacyjna daje samorządom czas do września na zmianę nazw budowli i obiektów, które upamiętniają bądź nawiązują do ustroju komunistycznego. Jednocześnie nie wymaga od mieszkańców wymiany dokumentów, nawet jeśli nazwy ulic ulegną zmianie – dodaje burmistrz Majewski. Na Kaszubach zdekomunizowane mają być też m.in. dwie ulice i szkoła w Bolszewie w gminie Wejherowo i jedna ulica w Pucku.
