Modernizują ulice i likwidują dworzec PKS
W Kościerzynie rozpoczęła się największa tegoroczna inwestycja – modernizacja 10 ulic łączących szpital z węzłem integracyjnym, który ma powstać na dworcu PKP. Zlikwidowany będzie też dworzec autobusowy w centrum miasta, na którym powstanie parking dla 40 samochodów.
– Zlikwidowany będzie też dworzec PKS w centrum miasta – opisuje burmistrz Michał Majewski.
Koszt całej inwestycji to 6 i pół mln złotych, z czego połowę miasto otrzymało w ramach dofinansowania z tzw. schetynówek, czyli Narodowego Programu Przebudowy Dróg Lokalnych. Zakres prac obejmie wymianę nawierzchni dróg na odcinku prawie 5 km, przebudowę kanalizacji sanitarnej a także wykonanie nowego oświetlenia. Modernizowany będzie ciąg dróg od ulicy Piechowskiego przy szpitalu, poprzez Skłodowskiej i 8 marca do Młyńskiej, Kaplicznej, Skarszewskiej i Dworcowej.
Władze miasta mają przejąć plac od PKS do końca maja. Od czerwca pasażerowie będą korzystali z przystanku przy ulicy Wojska Polskiego, a także czterech stanowisk przygotowanych dla autobusów na zapleczu pomnika Józefa Wybickiego. Cała inwestycja, łącznie z modernizacją ulic, ma się zakończyć do listopada.
