W Gdyni ważą się losy ulicy Starowiejskiej
Przekształcenie ulicy Starowiejskiej w Gdyni w przestrzeń z priorytetem dla pieszych – zyskało największe poparcie podczas społecznych konsultacji. Wypracowano w sumie trzy koncepcje, których koszt jest teraz szacowany.
– Największe poparcie zyskała najbardziej radykalna, z ograniczeniem ruchu kołowego i przywilejami dla pieszych – mówi Andrzej Bień – radny i pełnomocnik prezydenta Gdyni do spraw bezpieczeństwa miasta.
Do przebudowy Starowiejskiej w śródmieściu przymierzano się już kilka razy. Finał mają przynieść konsultacje rozpoczęte w kwietniu. 800 osób w ankietach wyraziło oczekiwania, były warsztaty z architektami i dyskusja nad propozycjami. Na drugim miejscu znalazła się propozycja najbardziej zachowawcza – remont Starowiejskiej poparło 44 procent ankietowanych. Na trzecim był wariant pośredni między estetyzacją a zmianą zasad korzystania ze Starowiejskiej. Przed podjęciem decyzji trzeba ocenić koszty wprowadzenia koncepcji – mówi wiceprezydent Gdyni Michał Guć. Decyzja w sprawie przyszłości ulicy Starowiejskiej ma zapaść do końca października.
