W Gdyni rozpoczyna działanie Centrum Integracji Społecznej
Mieści się w budynku dawnego Zespołu Szkół Budownictwa Okrętów przy ulicy Energetyków 13 a. Operatorem ośrodka z ramienia samorządu jest Towarzystwo Pomocy im. św. Brata Alberta Koło Gdańskie.
W dni powszednie organizowane będą tu warsztaty i szkolenia zawodowe, a także konsultacje z psychologami, doradcami zawodowymi, trenerami kariery i pracownikami socjalnymi. Do skorzystania z oferty zapraszane są osoby w trudnej sytuacji życiowej – bezdomne, uzależnione, niepełnosprawne, z zaburzeniami psychicznymi oraz uchodźcy. Program przewiduje sześć godzin zajęć każdego dnia, dla każdego uczestnika przez pół roku. CIS zapewnia ubezpieczenie, ciepły posiłek, bilety komunikacji miejskiej. Pierwsze zajęcia odbędą się 20 marca, ostatnie – jesienią 2022 roku. Za wykonaną pracę uczestnicy otrzymają świadczenie w wysokości zasiłku dla osób bezrobotnych.
Organizacja Centrum Integracji Społecznej i jej program kosztuje 9. mln złotych, z czego 7 mln to dofinansowanie z Europejskiego Funduszu Społecznego. Pozostałą kwotę przekazało miasto Gdynia. To jeden z filarów systemu aktywizacji społeczno-zawodowej „Pracownia”, realizowanego przez cztery jednostki – Towarzystwo Pomocy im. Św. Brata Alberta, Fundację Gospodarczą, Stowarzyszenie Przyjaciół Integracji oraz Laboratorium Innowacji Społecznych.
