W Gdyni powstanie pierwszy na Pomorzu bank mleka kobiecego
W Szpitalu Morskim im. PCK w Gdyni powstanie pierwszy na Pomorzu bank mleka kobiecego. Placówka będzie umożliwiać karmienie naturalnym pokarmem noworodki i niemowlęta, które z przyczyn medycznych lub losowych nie mogą być karmione mlekiem własnej mamy.
Na stworzenie tego miejsca spółka „Szpitale Pomorskie” otrzyma blisko 415 tys. zł dotacji ze środków Ministerstwa Zdrowia. Banki mleka to małe laboratoria zajmujące się pozyskiwaniem mleka kobiecego od Honorowych Dawczyń, a także bezpiecznym przechowywaniem oraz dostarczaniem go potrzebującym dzieciom. Będą to głównie wcześniaki. W Szpitalu Morskim im. PCK w Gdyni chcą m.in. pomóc w przypadkach przedwczesnego zakończenia ciąży związanego z chorobą nowotworową matki i koniecznością leczenia jej chemioterapią czy też kobietom po mastektomii, które urodziły dzieci. Mleko z banku mleka kobiecego ma być udostępniane szpitalom z województwa pomorskiego, po zawarciu umów o współpracy w tej sprawie.
