W Gdyni najlepszym sportowcom wręczono „Złote Żagle”
Najlepszych sportowców minionego roku wybrano także w Gdyni. Na gali w Teatrze Muzycznym statuetki odebrali: Żeglarka Aleksandra Melzacka oraz bobsleista Łukasz Miedzik.
Drużyną roku wybrano zespół koszykarek Arki Gdynia U22, wśród trenerów najlepszy okazał się Milos Mitrović prowadzący młodzieżowe drużyny koszykarzy Arki. Za najlepszą imprezę uznano 19. edycję Volvo Gdynia Sailing Days, a w kategorii „Sportowa Inicjatywa Roku” uhonorowane zostało stowarzyszenie „Biegamyrazem.pl”. Ważnym punktem uroczystej Gali było także wyróżnienie talentów w kategorii „Nadzieja Gdyńskiego Sportu” oraz liderów sportu szkolnego. Oprócz statuetek „złotych żagli” najlepsi w swoich kategoriach otrzymali nagrody finansowe: „Sportowcy Roku” po 10 tys. zł, trener 5 tys. zł, drużyna 20 tys. zł, a każda z nadziei po 2 tys. zł. Pieniądze przyznane zostały w ramach Nagrody Prezydenta Miasta Gdyni za wybitne osiągnięcia sportowe oraz działania na rzecz kultury fizycznej i promocji Gdyni poprzez sport.
