W Gdańsku świętowano 10-lecie Rady Języka Kaszubskiego
Kaszubi udowodnili, że mają język a nie gwarę – podkreślali polscy językoznawcy, którzy wzięli udział w konferencji z okazji 10-lecia działalności Rady Języka Kaszubskiego. W spotkaniu uczestniczyli naukowcy z Poznania, Warszawy i Gdańska.
Rada zajmuje się standaryzacją naszego języka, ustalając normy pisane i umówione języka literackiego. Podsumowując dziesięciolecie uczestnicy przypomnieli burzliwe dyskusje z lat 80-tych i 90-tych dotyczące sporu czy kaszubski to język czy gwara. Profesor Alfred Majewicz z Poznania – jako jeden z pierwszych – w swoich publikacjach przekonywał, że Kaszubi mają język i to od nich zależy jaki będzie jego status.
Obecnie kaszubski w polskim prawie określany jest językiem regionalnym i to jest sukces Kaszubów – podkreślała prof. Jadwiga Zieniukowa z Polskiej Akademii Nauk w Warszawie. Podczas dwudniowej konferencji podsumowano działalność Rady Języka Kaszubskiego, w tym jej działania oświatowe i edukacyjne.
