– W Słupsku w szkole podstawowej nr 2 na lekcje kaszubskiego uczęszcza 80 uczniów – mówi nauczycielka Karolina Keller.
Prawdziwy renesans języka kaszubskiego w szkołach trwa w powiecie słupskim, lęborskim i chojnickim. Naszego języka uczy się tam już kilka tysięcy dzieci. Od września dołączyło do nich kilkanaście nowych szkół głównie w gminie Słupsk i Dębnica Kaszubska. Łącznie na całych Kaszubach rodnej mowy uczyło się w zeszłym roku ponad 17 tysięcy dzieci i młodzieży. Co roku ta liczba zwiększa się o około tysiąc nowych uczniów. Dokładne dane dotyczące tego roku będą znane w połowie października. Już jednak wiadomo, że lekcje języka kaszubskiego wprowadziły szkoły w gminie Chojnice, Słupsk i Dębnica Kaszubska. Samorządy skłaniają do tego dodatkowe pieniądze na język kaszubski z subwencji oświatowej, a dzieci i rodziców – wycieczki i atrakcyjne zajęcia. Język kaszubski w przyszłych latach ma pojawić się również w gminach Ustka i Kobylnica. Sytuacji języka kaszubskiego w powiecie słupskim poświęcona będzie konferencja naukowa, która odbędzie się 28 października w Redzikowie.
