„Dotknij piersi” – pod tym hasłem studenci z Gdańskiego Uniwersytetu Medycznego już po raz trzeci zainaugurowali akcję profilaktyki raka piersi. W jej ramach ruszyła strona internetowa, a w wielu miejscach pojawiły się plakaty zachęcające do samobadania piersi oraz odpowiadania na zaproszenie na badania mammograficzne.
Studenci przez cały rok będą organizowali spotkania edukacyjne w szkołach i uczelniach wyższych, w Trójmieście odbędzie się również akcja „Nie bądź gapa, skasuj raka”, gdzie w zabytkowym tramwaju będą edukowali mieszkanki Gdańska o profilaktyce raka piersi. Punktem kulminacyjnym będzie ogólnopolski bieg „Prześcignij raka”, który w tym roku po raz pierwszy, oprócz Gdańska, odbędzie się również w Poznaniu, Katowicach i Wrocławiu. Najważniejsza jest profilaktyka – podkreśla organizator akcji przewodniczący koła naukowego przy katedrze Kliniki Chirurgii Onkologicznej Gdańskiego Uniwersytetu Medycznego Jakub Piotrkowski. Bezpłatne badani onkologiczne będzie można wykonać już 7 lutego w Gdańsku – w Wojewódzkim Centrum Onkologii. Będą też konsultacje ze specjalistami. A wszystko w ramach „Dnia Drzwi Otwartych” – na które można się już rejestrować np. telefonicznie. Dzwonić można w dni powszednie od ósmej do piętnastej, do kwalifikacji na badania niezbędny jest numer PESEL.
