Tomasz Chamera objął ster Polskiego Związku Żeglarskiego
Gdynianin wcześniej pełnił w Związku funkcje wiceprezesa do spraw sportu oraz dyrektora do spraw sportu, strategii i rozwoju.
W głosowaniu, które odbyło się podczas sejmiku sprawozdawczo-wyborczego w Warszawie Tomasz Chamera zdobył 56 głosów, zaś jego kontrkandydat, ustępujący prezes Wiesław Kaczmarek, uzyskał poparcie 36 delegatów. Kaczmarek pełnił funkcję szefa Polskiego Związku Żeglarskiego przez ostatnich 16 lat.
Nowy prezes aktywnie działa w międzynarodowych organizacjach żeglarskich. Tomasz Chamera na co dzień jest wykładowcą gdańskiej Akademii Wychowania Fizycznego i Sportu.
