SZYMBARK: Odsłonięto pomnik niedźwiedzia Wojtka
Kilka tysięcy osób wzięło udział w Światowym Dniu Sybiraka, który odbył się wczoraj w Szymbarku. Uroczystość organizowana jest co roku w rocznicę sowieckiej agresji na Polskę w 1939 roku, tym razem połączono ją z 20 rocznicą wyprowadzenia Wojsk Radzieckich z Polski. Do Centrum Edukacji i Promocji Regionu zjechali z całego świata ci, których łączą dramatyczne wspomnienia zesłania na Sybir i czasu wojny. Hołd poległym oddały osoby, które przeżyły wywózkę, rodziny Katyńskie i Ponarskie, w uroczystościach wziął też udział były prezydent Lech Wałęsa, parlamentarzyści i samorządowcy. Na zakończenie odsłonięto pomnik niedźwiedzia Wojtka, maskotki i symbolu drugiego Korpusu Polskiego gen. Władysława Andersa. Wykonany w skali jeden do jednego pomnik staną koło Domu Sybiraka, niedźwiedź trzyma w łapach artyleryjski pocisk, a na łapie ma biało-czerwoną opaskę.
