Święty Jan Bosko oficjalnie zostanie patronem Rumi
Arcybiskup Sławoj Leszek Głódź w niedzielę ogłosi dekret papieża Franciszka, który uznał świętego patronem miasta.
– Mam nadzieję, że festyn, który od 3 lat odbywał się w mieście na cześć świętego poszerzy się o inne działania promujące jego postać, dodaje ks. Janusz Sikora.
Specjalna uroczystość odbędzie się w Sanktuarium Najświętszej Maryi Panny Wspomożenia Wiernych. Postać świętego Jana Bosko, założyciela salezjanów, który swoje życie poświęcił na pracę z dziećmi i młodzieżą, jest silnie związana z Rumią. Z inicjatywą nadania patrona miastu kilka lat temu wyszedł komitet społeczny, mówi proboszcz rumskiego sanktuarium ks. Janusz Sikora. Prośba mieszkańców, duchownych, poparta przez władze miasta została skierowana do metropolity gdańskiego. Następnie dokumentacja została przesłana do stolicy apostolskiej i przedłożona papieżowi. Z momentem oficjalnego ogłoszenia dekretu wspomnienie św. Jana Bosko w Rumi zostanie podniesione do rangi uroczystości. Uroczystości oficjalnego nadania patrona Rumi odbędą się w najbliższą niedzielę 27 stycznia o godzinie 11:00 w Sanktuarium Najświętszej Maryi Panny Wspomożenia Wiernych.
