Światowe Dni Młodzieży w Panamie
Za 100 dni rozpoczną się Światowe Dni Młodzieży w Panamie, w których wezmą udział młodzi Kaszubi z… Jesteśmy grupą – dosyć – młodych, radosnych, pełnych pasji ludzi. Łączy nas wiele. Pochodzimy z Chwaszczyna i okolic. Bliskość morza sprawia, że naturalnym odruchem jest chęć przygody, sięgania tam, gdzie horyzont styka się z wodą i podążania jeszcze dalej. Nie dotyczy to jednak tylko sfery typowo podróżniczej, ale uważamy, dzieląc wspólną wiarę w Jezusa Chrystusa, że największym wyzwaniem w życiu jest rozwój ducha, podążanie ku byciu dobrym człowiekiem, a także służba innym ludziom.
Jednym z najważniejszych przeżyć naszego życia były Światowe Dni Młodzieży, które w 2016 roku odbyły się w Krakowie. Spotkaliśmy się wtedy z ludźmi z całego świata, na czele z Papieżem Franciszkiem, a niektórych z nich gościliśmy u siebie, na parafii, pokazując typową polską gościnność. Znajomości, które udało nam się zawrzeć, okazały się silniejsze niż dzielące nas kilometry i trwają do tej pory. Dlatego też z radością, nadzieją, ale też z pewnymi obawami przyjęliśmy wiadomość Ojca Świętego, że kolejne Światowe Dni Młodzieży odbędą się u styku dwóch Ameryk, w bardzo dalekiej Panamie.
Wiedząc jednak, jak ważnym doświadczeniem było dla nas spotkanie w Krakowie, uznaliśmy, że nic nie może nas powstrzymać i że musimy w styczniu 2019 roku przemierzyć Atlantyk i po raz kolejny doświadczyć dobroci i siły młodych ludzi całego świata. Jesteśmy ciekawi codziennego życia, kultury, a także religijności naszych rówieśników z Panamy. Uważamy, że nic tak nie ubogaca człowieka jak dialog, wspólne przeżywanie i poznawanie świata, rzeczywistości, tego wszystkiego, co nas łączy. W podzielonym świecie takie spotkania, szczególnie dla nas, młodych ludzi, są znakiem radości i nadziei na lepszą przyszłość.
Ponadto nasze przygotowania duchowo-organizacyjne dużych echem odbijają się w naszych lokalnych społecznościach i aktywizują różne osoby i organizacje do wsparcia tego dzieła. Nasze przygotowania i wyjazd do Panamy swoim honorowym patronatem objęli Ksiądz Arcybiskup Sławoj Leszek Głódź Metropolita Gdański, Starości Powiatu Kartuskiego i Wejherowskiego, Burmistrz Gminy Żukowo, Wójt Gminy Szemud, Zrzeszenie Kaszubko-Pomorskiego oddział w Chwaszczynie oraz Dyrektor Muzeum Piśmiennictwa i Muzyki Kaszubsko-Pomorskiej w Wejherowie.
