Stosują nowoczesne metody wsparcia osób bezdomnych
Gdynia sprawdza w praktyce nowe rozwiązania skierowane do osób wychodzących z bezdomności i w trudnej sytuacji mieszkaniowej.
Jednym z nich jest projekt Gdyńska – Warszawska, w którym osoby wychodzące z bezdomności same pracują przy remoncie i wykańczaniu swojego nowego mieszkania. Miasto udostępniło MOPS jeden z lokali komunalnych i wyremontowało go do stanu deweloperskiego – bez ścian, podłóg. Prace wykończeniowe prowadzą przyszli mieszkańcy pod nadzorem wykwalifikowanych budowlańców oraz przy wsparciu pracowników socjalnych i gdyńskich firm. Badania i zachodnie doświadczenia dowodzą, że bezpośrednie zaangażowanie w urządzanie nowego lokum i udział w kosztach mają dobry wpływ na osoby wychodzące z bezdomności. Pozwala im to bardziej docenić otrzymaną pomoc i mobilizuje do pracy nad poprawą swojej sytuacji życiowej.
To kolejna z nowoczesnych metod wsparcia osób bezdomnych stosowana w Gdyni. Już 80 osób objęto tzw. „Planem Utrecht – mieszkanie zamiast schroniska”. Jego nazwa pochodzi od eksperymentu społecznego przeprowadzonego w Holandii, w jego ramach osobom bez dachu nad głową oferuje się wsparcie w pozyskaniu i utrzymaniu wynajmowanego lokalu na otwartym rynku.
