Startuje sezon żeglarski – regatami o Puchar Zatoki
Regatami o Puchar Klubu Sportowego Zatoka w klasie Optimist rozpoczyna się dziś oficjalny start sezonu żeglarskiego w Pucku. Do walki o trofeum młodzi żeglarze staną już po raz dziesiąty.
– Rangę eliminacyjną impreza zyskała dwa lata temu dzięki znakomitym warunkom do uprawiania żeglarstwa sportowego na Zatoce Puckiej – mówi Maciej Szafran z Polskiego Związku Żeglarskiego.
Jubileuszowa edycja regat rozegra się w dwóch kategoriach wiekowych – w szranki staną młodziki do 13 roku życia i ich starsi koledzy do lat 15. Dla tych ostatnich zawody będą także jedną z trzech eliminacji w drodze na mistrzostwa europu i świata. Od dwóch lat regaty zaliczają się także do cyklu Energa Sailing Cup ukierunkowanego na rozwój żeglarstwa wśród najmłodszych i wyłanianie sportowych talentów. Dlatego też w tegorocznej edycji nowością będą warsztaty żeglarskie, z których chętni będą mogli skorzystać w puckim porcie jachtowym w sobotę i niedzielę. – Takie wydarzenia pozwolą nam podźwignąć żeglarskie tradycje, które zostały w ostatnich latach nieco zaniedbane – podkreśla burmistrz Pucka Hanna Pruchniewska. Pierwszy bieg wystartuje dziś w samo południe, a zwycięzców poznamy pierwszego maja.
