Rumia z dofinansowaniem na konserwację średniowiecznego kościoła
Rumia zadba o jedyny zabytek w mieście – samorząd uzyskał dofinansowanie na konserwację murów średniowiecznego kościoła.
Chodzi o ruiny świątyni p.w. św. Mikołaja i Świętego Krzyża na terenie tzw. Starej Rumi. Kościół powstał w 13-tym wieku, znaczna jego część uległa zniszczeniu pod koniec drugiej wojny światowej. Pozostałości z roku na rok są w coraz gorszym stanie. Poza średniowiecznymi fragmentami ścian z zachowanymi resztkami polichromii postępującemu wietrzeniu ulegają również nagrobki pochodzące z 19. i początków 20. wieku na przyległym cmentarzu.
By je ocalić miasto pozyskało 90 tysięcy złotych z Ministerstwa Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego – na przeprowadzenie badań i prac konserwatorskich. W obszarze zespołu parkowego powstanie też lapidarium – ma być wstępem do rozwoju muzealnictwa na terenie Rumi. Prace zakończą się jeszcze w tym roku.
Cały obiekt zostanie udostępniony bez ograniczeń na cele historyczne, kulturalne, edukacyjne i artystyczne.
