– Pierwszego września ponad trzy i pół tysiąca przedszkolaków oraz uczniów klas 0-3 otrzymało „Rumię pachnącą Rumiankiem”, w której przygody fantastycznej postaci są pretekstem do przekazania najmłodszym historii ich miasta – wyjaśnia wiceburmistrz Rumi Leszek Kiersznikiewicz.
Premierowym wykonaniem „małej mszy dziękczynnej” w Rumi uczczą dzisiaj 60-lecie nadania praw miejskich. Będzie to kulminacja roku obchodów tej rocznicy. Dokładnie dzisiaj mija 60 lat odkąd Rumia stała się miastem. Przez cały rok pod wspólnym logiem 60 lecia organizowano koncerty, wydarzenia kulturalne oraz wydawnicze. Wśród wydanych publikacji warto wymienić drugi tom historii Rumi oraz książkę skierowaną do najmłodszych. Kulminacją rocznych obchodów święta miasta będzie uroczysta sesja samorządu, po niej msza święta oraz uroczysty koncert – będzie to premiera „Małej mszy dziękczynnej”. Utwór dedykowany mieszkańcom miasta skomponował Dariusz Wojciechowski, a wykonają artyści z Opery Bałtyckiej przy wsparciu śpiewaków z rumskich chórów. Uroczysta sesja Rady Miasta odbędzie się o 15:00 w hali widowiskowo – sportowej w Rumi. O 18:00 rozpocznie się msza święta w kościele pod wezwaniem świętego Józefa i Judy Tadeusza, po niej około 19:30 początek koncertu dedykowanego miastu Rumia i jego mieszkańcom.
