Regionalny Zespół Pieśni i Tańca Kaszuby ma już 70 lat
Regionalny Zespół Pieśni i Tańca Kaszuby z Kartuz ma już 70 lat! Na koncert uświetniający to wydarzenie do sali widowiskowej kartuskiego Centrum Kultury przyszli wielbiciele kaszubskiego folkloru i profesjonalizmu tancerzy. Kaszuby zagrały i zatańczyły swoje najlepsze tańce i odśpiewały znane rodzime pieśni.
Zespół istnieje od 1946 r. Jego założycielem była Marta Bistroń. Od chwili powstania i opracowania pierwszego programu zespół koncertował prawie we wszystkich większych miastach Polski, a także kilkadziesiąt razy propagował folklor kaszubski poza granicami kraju. Kaszuby występowały też w filmach fabularnych, nagrały kilka płyt, a na koncie ma wiele nagród, wyróżnień i dyplomów. Od 1961 roku kierownikiem zespołu jest jego wychowanek Franciszek Kwidziński.
Pierwszym koncertem Zespołu Pieśni i Tańca Kaszuby z Kartuz był występ z okazji I rocznicy zajęcia Gdańska w 1946 roku. To od tego występu datuje się powstanie zespołu, który liczy obecnie 50 członków w wieku od 16 do 70 lat. Dorobek zespołu – pamiątki niemal z każdego miejsca, w którym występowali – prezentowany jest w świetlicy RZPiT Kaszuby, w Kartuzach, przy Gdańskiej 15.
