Profesor Breza honorowym obywatelem Kościerzyny
Profesor Edward Breza zostanie honorowym obywatelem Kościerzyny – zdecydowali wczoraj miejscy radni.
Profesor Breza urodził się w Kaliszu w gm Dziemiany. To wybitny historyk i językoznawca, autor licznych publikacji poświęconych gramatyce i ortografii języka kaszubskiego. Wychował całe pokolenia naukowców i nauczycieli. Jest humanistą związanym z kulturą Kaszub, a w szczególności ze swoją rodzinną ziemią kościerską. W Kościerzynie pracował jako nauczyciel w latach 60-tych. Cieszy fakt, że miejscy radni dostrzegli zasługi profesora Brezy mówi prof. Tadeusz Linkner.
Dodajmy, że do honorowymi obywatelami Kościerzyny są m.in. biskup Jan Bernard Szlaga, arcybiskup Henryk Muszyński, Zdzisław Czucha, Romuald Wołodźko, ks. Stanisław Czapiewski czy dr Jerzy Knyba.
