Prezydenci Gdyni i Gdańska podpisali umowy na placu budowy PKM
Prezydenci Gdańska i Gdyni podpisali umowy na rozwój trójmiejskiego transportu z marszałkiem województwa. Uroczyste podpisy złożono na ulicy Rakoczego w Gdańsku, na powstającym wiadukcie Pomorskiej Kolei Metropolitarnej. Unijne dofinansowanie przekazane przez marszałka obejmuje węzeł komunikacyjny w Gdańsku i między innymi zakup nowego taboru autobusowego w Gdyni. Marszałek Mieczysław Struck przypomniał, że Pomorska Kolej Metropolitarna to jedyne w Polsce połączenie torowe budowane przez samorządy. PKM ma połączyć Gdańsk i Gdynię między innymi z Baninem i lotniskiem w Rębiechowie. Podpisana dziś umowa pozwoli z kolei na połączenie gdańskich przystanków Brętowo, Jasień i Kiełpinek z istniejącą siecią tramwajową dzięki węzłom integracyjnym. Trójmiejski transport ma stać się jednym systemem – dodaje marszałek. Dwie umowy podpisał też prezydent Gdyni – o dofinansowanie przebudowywanej już drogi Chwarznieńskiej, czyli dojazdu z centrum do obwodnicy, oraz na zakup nowego taboru autobusowego. W Gdyni powstaną bus-pasy na ulicach Morskiej i Kieleckiej, przebudowane zostaną przystanki, miastu przybędzie też 30 nowych autobusów. Połowa z nich jeździć będzie na biogaz. Podpisane dziś umowy opiewały na 131 milionów złotych, a to tylko część budżetu Pomorskiej Kolei Metropolitarnej. Pociągami PKM pojedziemy prawdopodobnie w 2015 roku.
