Powstaje nowy most kolejowy na Martwej Wiśle w Gdańsku
PKP PLK modernizuje linię nr 226. Niemal stuletni most obrotowy na Martwej Wiśle zniknie, a oba brzegi połączy nowoczesna konstrukcja.
– Ta inwestycja to szansa rozwoju dla portu, poprawi też komfort życia mieszkańców – mówi rzecznik PKP PLK Karol Jakubowski.
Inwestycja dedykowana jest transportowi towarowemu, który ma szczególne znaczenie dla Trójmiasta i jest uzupełnieniem planów inwestycyjnych Portu Gdańsk. Zakładają one rozwój baz przeładunkowych, terminali kontenerowych i powstania centrum logistyczno – dystrybucyjnego. Prace które rozpoczęły się w sierpniu ubiegłego roku obejmą 12 kilometrowy odcinek między Pruszczem Gdańskim a stacją Gdańsk Port Północny. Kluczowym elementem jest most na Martwej Wiśle, łączący port z miastem. Nowoczesna, ważąca około 2 tysiące ton dwutorowa konstrukcja będzie miała 122 metry długości i pozwoli na przejazd 180 pociągów towarowych na dobę, czyli sześć razy więcej niż obecnie. Nowy most będzie wyższy o 3 metry od obecnego i pozbawiony filarów, co usprawni również żeglugę. Konstrukcja ma spiąć oba brzegi Martwej Wisły pod koniec grudnia, a cała inwestycja zakończy się w sierpniu przyszłego roku.
