Powiatowe Centrum Młodzieży w Garczynie świętuje 90. urodziny
90 lat działa już Powiatowe Centrum Młodzieży w Garczynie koło Kościerzyny. Świętowanie rozpoczęto wczoraj piknikiem patriotyczno-edukacyjnym. PCM w Garczynie to jedyny tego typu ośrodek w województwie pomorskim.
Organizuje obozy sportowe, rekreacyjne, żeglarskie i przysposobienia obronnego dla młodzieży. Jego historia rozpoczęło się w 1928 roku. – Wówczas gen. Maria Witek zorganizowała tam pierwszy obóz wojskowy dla kobiet – przypomina dyrektor Ośrodka Marek Wołoszyk. W ostatnich latach powiat kościerski, dzięki pozyskaniu unijnego dofinansowania, zainwestował w Garczynie prawie 10 mln zł. Powstała przystań żeglarska, kąpielisko, Centrum Informacji Turystycznej, boisko Orlik oraz stołówka. Z okazji jubileuszu 8 lipca odbędzie się Dzień Otwarty, w sierpniu Zlot Harcerzy, a we wrześniu Spartakiada sportów proobronnych.
