Pociągi jeszcze przyśpieszą na trasie z Trójmiasta do Warszawy. Będzie to możliwe dzięki systemowi bezprzewodowego przekazywania sygnałów z semaforów do kabiny maszynisty. Na trasie już działają urządzenia automatycznie wykrywające awarie lokomotyw i wagonów. Dobiega końca modernizacja magistrali Gdynia – Warszawa oraz dostosowywania jej do standardów międzynarodowych, zapewniających bezpieczny ruch pociągów.
Przebudowano i wymieniono 850 km torów z siecią trakcyjną, zbudowano 150 nowych peronów i ponad 600 takich obiektów jak wiadukty, przejścia dla pieszych, przepusty. Na trasie działają już urządzenia, które automatycznie wykrywają awarie lokomotyw i wagonów – mówi Maciej Dutkiewicz z zespołu prasowego PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe. Na bezpieczeństwo i przepustowość linii wpłynie także budowa Europejskiego Systemu Zarządzania Ruchem Kolejowym. Jego działanie polega na przekazywaniu z pomocą fal radiowych informacji o sygnałach, które maszynista zobaczy na semaforach dopiero za kilka kilometrów. Prowadzący pociąg dowiaduje się o dozwolonej prędkości na poszczególnych odcinkach trasy, a ewentualne jej przekroczenie powoduje automatyczne wymuszenie hamowania. System ma być wdrożony do końca 2015 roku. To pozwoli pociągom pasażerskim na rozpędzanie się na wybranych odcinkach do prędkości powyżej 160 km/h, a czas podróży z Trójmiasta do Warszawy ma się skrócić do 2 godzin 37 minut. (Fot.
