Pierwsze w historii koło studenckie na KPSW w Wejherowie
Kaszubscy studenci mają swoje kluby na Uniwersytecie Gdańskim i Politechnice Gdańskiej, w Akademii Pomorskiej w Słupsku, a nawet na uniwersytecie w Toruniu. Tymczasem pierwsze w historii uczelni koło założyli też studenci Kaszubsko-Pomorskiej Szkoły Wyższej w Wejherowie.
Nowa organizacja nosi nazwę „Ziemia Rodnô”, co oznacza ojczystą ziemię. Jej przewodniczącym został wieloletni propagator języka kaszubskiego – Zbigniew Byczkowski. Studenci zrzeszeni w kole chcą dbać o rozwój i kultywowanie tradycji kaszubskiej oraz budowanie regionalnej tożsamości. W planie jest między innymi organizacja spotkań, wykładów i konferencji.
– Grupa liczy obecnie powyżej dwudziestu osób i ciągle się rozrasta – mówi Zbigniew Byczkowski.
Pierwszym wyzwaniem koła studenckiego w Kaszubsko-Pomorskiej Szkoły Wyższej w Wejherowie będzie wprowadzenie nowego przedmiotu. „Historia i Kultura Kaszubów”, bo pod takim tytułem zostaną poprowadzone wykłady, ruszy w drugim semestrze tego roku akademickiego. Na 22 lutego przewidziana jest konferencja naukowa, która rozpocznie cały kurs.
