Otwarto skwer poświęcony redaktor Reginie Osowickiej
Pomnik redaktor Reginy Osowickiej w pobliżu miejsca jej zamieszkania – zwieńczył budowę skweru jej imienia przy ulicy Bukowej w Wejherowie.
– Osobiście Reginę Osowicką wspominam bardzo miło, ciepło i serdecznie, ale i zawodowo miałyśmy okazję się spotkać – mówi starosta powiatu wejherowskiego Gabriela Lisius.
Ta przestrzeń została wcześniej gruntownie zmodernizowana – ma nową nawierzchnię, fontannę, oświetlenie i monitoring. Patronka skweru, dziennikarka, działaczka społeczna, publicystka przybliżała w swoich publikacjach książkowych i telewizyjnych historię Wejherowa i sylwetki jego mieszkańców. Wejherowianie znali Reginę Osowicką jako „damę w kapeluszu” i właśnie taki jej wizerunek zdobi skwer zlokalizowany w pobliżu Filharmonii Kaszubskiej i Zespołu Szkół Ponadgimnazjalnych nr 1. Uroczystość nadania imienia odbyła się w auli Liceum nr 1. – To nie przypadek że właśnie my byliśmy jej gospodarzem – mówi dyrektor szkoły Bożena Conradi. O nadanie skwerowi imienia wejherowskiej dziennikarki zabiegali miejscy radni Tomasz Groth i Mateusz Schmidt. Uczestnicy uroczystości obejrzeli film przygotowany na zlecenie urzędu miasta, w którym uczniowie i znajomi dziennikarki – a także ona sama – przedstawiają jej niezwykła historię.
Kolejnym sposobem upamiętnienia Reginy Osowickiej w jej rodzinnym mieście będzie konkurs historyczny, który odbędzie się 23 października.
