Oddano do użytku zbiornik wody „Kazimierz” na Wyspie Sobieszewskiej
Ma 30 metrów wysokości, pomieści 600 metrów sześciennych wody, a z jej tarasu można podziwiać panoramę Zatoki Gdańskiej. Wieża ciśnień na Wyspie Sobieszewskiej otwarta.
– Ten piękny obiekt jest podwójnie użyteczny – mówi prezydent Gdańska Paweł Adamowicz.
Zbiornik nazwano „Kazimierz” na cześć długoletniego, wybitnego pracownika gdańskich wodociągów. Wieża ma zapewnić mieszkańcom wyspy odpowiednie ciśnienie wody w kranach, będzie też magazynować wodę do celów przeciwpożarowych. Od wiosny do jesieni będzie też pełnić funkcję tarasu widokowego – można stąd podziwiać rezerwaty Ptasi Raj i Mewia Łacha, jest dobry widok na Półwysep Helski i Żuławy Gdańskie. Inwestycja kosztowała 8 mln zł. – Tam też trzeba wcześniej zgłaszać chęć skorzystania z tarasu widokowego, za pośrednictwem internetowego formularza – mówiła Anna Nawała z Gdańskiej Infrastruktury Wodociągowo-Kanalizacyjnej. Realizowała ja spółka miejska Gdańska Infrastruktura Wodociągowo-Kanalizacyjna.Taras zostanie otwarty dla zwiedzających 9 września.
