Obelisk profesora Gerarda Labudy odsłonięto w Nowej Hucie
W Nowej Hucie koło Kartuz odsłonięto obelisk upamiętniający profesora Gerarda Labudę w 100-lecie jego urodzin. W uroczystości udział wzięła rodzina profesora, samorządowcy i członkowie Zrzeszenia Kaszubsko-Pomorskiego.
– Całe dorosłe życie spędził w Poznaniu, ale pochodził z Kaszub i chcieliśmy to upamiętnić – podkreślał wczoraj burmistrz Kartuz Grzegorz Gołuński.
Profesor Labuda był jednym z najbardziej znanych historyków w Polsce, autorem ponad 2 tysięcy prac naukowych, w tym 30 książek. Mówił Adam Labuda, syn profesora. Choć rodzice Gerarda Labudy mieszkali w Luzinie, on urodził się 28 grudnia 1916 roku w Nowej Hucie, gdy rodzice przebywali ze świąteczną wizytą u rodziny – wspominała jego krewna Teresa Drywa. Obelisk upamiętniający profesora Gerarda Labudę stanął obok dawnej szkoły w Nowej Hucie. Podczas wczoraj uroczystości wręczono też nagrody naukowe imienia Gerarda Labudy i uczczono 60 rocznicę istnienia Zrzeszenia Kaszubsko-Pomorskiego w Kartuzach.
