Nowy deptak oddano oddano do użytku w Rumi. Rekreacyjny ciąg połączył Miejski Dom Kultury z Miejskim Ośrodkiem Sportu i Rekreacji.
– Inwestycja kosztowała miejski samorząd ponad milion złotych, drogo, ale posłuży mieszkańcom przez lata – komentuje wydatek burmistrz Rumi, Michał Pasieczny.
Wybudowano prawie kilometr chodnika dla pieszych i ścieżki rowerowej, na poboczach postawiono ławeczki. Deptak uzupełnił inwestycje z 2015 roku, kiedy powstał ciąg od ul. Torowej do Abrahama – można nim przejść do Dąbrowskiego aż do parku starowiejskiego. Entuzjazm burmistrza podzielili mieszkańcy Rumi – ich zdaniem w mieście brakowało rekreacyjnej przestrzeni do wycieczek rowerowych czy rodzinnych spacerów. Samorząd z Rumi ma plany na dalszą rozbudowę deptaka – w przyszłym roku ma on być przedłużony od parku starowiejskiego do ulicy Dębogórskiej.
