Nie będzie elektrowni atomowej na Wydmie Lubiatowskiej – czyli tzw. lokalizacji „Choczewo”. W grze są jeszcze „Lubiatowo – Kopalino” i Żarnowiec.
Wydma Lubiatowska to jedna z dwóch lokalizacji w gminie Choczewo, na których prowadzono badania pod budowę elektrowni atomowej. Inwestor nie planuje jednak prowadzić tam dalszych prac przygotowawczych, tłumacząc swoją decyzję zbyt dużym ryzykiem negatywnego wpływu inwestycji na środowisko naturalne. – Generalna Dyrekcja Ochrony Środowiska została powiadomiona o tym fakcie w połowie stycznia – mówi rzecznik PGE EJ 1 Joanna Zając.
Na opinię GDOŚ-u spółka będzie czekać kilka miesięcy, a tymczasem w gminie Choczewo badania skupią się na bardziej na zachód wysuniętej lokalizacji Lubiatowo – Kopalino, obejmującej sołectwa Słajszewo, Jackowo i Biebrowo. Decyzja wzbudziła irytację choczewskich samorządowców, którzy od lat mówią o blokowaniu inwestycji na terenie prawdopodobnych lokalizacji atomówki.
– To jest zmarnowane pięć lat – ocenia wójt gminy Choczewo Wiesław Gębka.
Oprócz miejsca między jeziorem Kopalińskim a latarnią Stilo wciąż aktualna pozostaje także lokalizacja „Żarnowiec” na terenach gmin Krokowa i Gniewino.
