Nazwy miejscowości w gminie Puck powinny mieć formę literacką – uważa Rada Języka Kaszubskiego.
– Poza tzw. belaczeniem, czyli wymawianiem „l” w miejsce “ł” problematyczne jest też miejscowe, zwyczajowe nazewnictwo, które niekiedy – mówi prof. Edward Breza – nie jest zbieżne z oficjalnymi nazwami.
Gremium naukowców wypowiedziało się w sprawie 53 nazw i osiedli, które mają być umieszczone na podwójnych, polsko – kaszubskich tablicach. Stanowisko to nie jest dla gminy Puck wiążące. Rada Języka Kaszubskiego uznała, że nie powinno się stosować lokalnych form. – Jednogłośnie zaakceptowała nazwy w standardowej kaszubszczyźnie zakładając jednocześnie, że miejscowe środowiska i tak naniosą zmiany wynikające ze specyfiki dialektalnej tej części Kaszub – mówi członkini Rady Języka Kaszubskiego Bożena Ugowska. Rola Rady Języka Kaszubskiego w procesie nadawania nazw miejscowości pełni funkcję doradczą. Pisownia zastosowana na tablicach zależy od akceptacji władz i mieszkańców. Oficjalnych kaszubskich nazw miejscowości jest w tej chwili 786.
