Gryfy Kaszubskie rozdane. Najwyższe odznaczenie przyznawane przez gminę Wejherowo odebrali ksiądz Daniel Nowak i prezes Gdyńskiego PEWiK Henryk Tomaszewski. Statuetki wręczono podczas obchodów 80-lecia gminy Wejherowo, uroczysta sesja była kulminacją organizowanych przez cały rok wydarzeń kulturalnych i sportowych. Kilkadziesiąt osób odebrało odznaczenia przyznane przez ministrów: kultury, sportu, rolnictwa i edukacji oraz krzyże zasługi przyznawane przez prezydenta. Samorząd natomiast wręczył najwyższe odznaczenia przyznawane przez gminę Wejherowo. Księdza Daniela Nowaka nagrodzono Gryfem Kaszubskim m.in. za propagowanie wiedzy historycznej na temat zbrodni w Piaśnicy. Za szczególne zasługi dla gminy Wejherowo nagrodzono też prezesa PEWiK w Gdyni – bo rozwój gminy i napływ inwestorów warunkowany jest między innymi stale rozbudowywanym systemem kanalizacji. Z okazji 80-lecia przyznano też honorowe obywatelstwo gminy Wejherowo. Otrzymał je Henryk Kornacki, założyciel i wieloletni kapelmistrz gminnej orkiestry.
