Muzeum Piaśnica ma prowadzić badania i edukować
Muzeum Piaśnica to ważna dla polskiej polityki historycznej instytucja kultury – ogłosił na konferencji w Wejherowie wiceminister kultury i dziedzictwa narodowego Jarosław Sellin.
– Wciąż mało Polaków wie, a o cudzoziemcach nie wspominając, że pierwszy masowy mord ludobójczy w czasie II wojny światowej został dokonany właśnie na Pomorzu, w lasach piaśnickich – ocenił sekretarz stanu w resorcie kultury Jarosław Sellin.
Muzeum Piaśnica w Wejherowie zostało powołane 16 grudnia tego roku jako oddział Muzeum Stutthof w Sztutowie. Mieścić się będzie w Wejherowie przy ulicy Ofiar Paiśnicy, w Villi Musica wybudowanej przez zasłużonego wejherowianina i pierwszego po 1920 roku przewodniczącego rady miejskiej Franciszka Panka. Ministerstwo kupiło Villę, prace adaptacyjne mają potrwać rok. Do tego czasu placówka będzie się mieścić w tymczasowych biurach. Ma m. in. prowadzić prace badawcze, dotąd bowiem udało się poznać nazwiska tylko kilkuset osób zamordowanych w Piaśnicy i pochowanych w około 30 masowych mogiłach. Śledztwo w tej sprawie na nowo podjął w 2011 roku gdański IPN. W latach 1939 – 40 w piaśnickich lasach hitlerowcy zamordowali kilkanaście tysięcy osób,głównie ze środowiska kaszubskiej i pomorskiej inteligencji. I na konferencji w Wejherowie podkreślił, że Muzeum Piaśnica to ważna dla polskiej polityki historycznej instytucja kultury.
Dyrektorem Muzeum Piaśnicy została Teresa Patsidis, była radna Wejherowa, animatorka kultury i wieloletnia asystentka posła Jarosława Sellina. Podała, że placówka będzie dążyła do badań nad niemieckimi archiwami naukowymi, ma też podejmować działania związane z edukacją i współpracą z różnymi środowiskami. (Foto: www.portalsamorzadowy.pl)
