Młodzi mieszkańcy Wejherowa uczą się czym jest pieniądz, jaka jest jego wartość i w jaki sposób nim zarządzać. Fundacja Banku Gospodarstwa Krajowego realizuje program edukacyjny „Małe miasto”.
Dzieci w wieku od 8 do 12 lat mają możliwość wcielenia się w role dorosłych: pracują, zarabiają, oszczędzają i wydają pieniądze. Poprzez zabawę i działanie poznają wartość pieniądza, uczą się zarządzania własnym budżetem, a także tego, jak funkcjonuje gospodarka. W „Małym Mieście” działa również Małomiasteczkowy Urząd Skarbowy. Dzieci codziennie odprowadzają do niego podatki, które – tak samo jak w dorosłym świecie – przyczyniają się do zmiany publicznej przestrzeni miasta, w którym gości „Małe Miasto”. Zebrane podatki przeznaczane są na realizację wybranego przez dzieci projektu. Fundacja, której jedynym fundatorem jest Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, została założona w 2004 roku z okazji 80 rocznicy powstania BGK.. Fundacja wspiera inicjatywy w trzech obszarach: edukacji finansowej, budowania postaw obywatelskich i patriotycznych oraz aktywizowania i wspierania obywateli. „Małe Miasto” gościło w Nowym Targu, w Łowiczu i Zakopanym, a do piątku 25 stycznia obecne jest w Wejherowie.
