Od Kaszubów z Kanady możemy się uczyć wyrażania miłość do kaszubszczyzny – mówi organizator wyjazdu kaszubskiej delegacji z Pomorza do Ontario.
Eugeniusz Pryczkowski był jedną z osób zaangażowanych w doręczenie kopii figurki Matki Boskiej Sianowskiej Kaszubom w Kanadzie. Replikę poświęcił wcześniej biskup Ryszard Kasyna. Kaszubi z Pomorza zawieźli ją do gminy Madawaska Valley, gdzie mieszka 2,5 tysiąca Kaszubów, z czego 300 do dziś płynnie mówi po kaszubsku. To potomkowie emigrantów z okolic Bytowa i Kościerzyny. Podniosły charakter miały uroczystości wprowadzenia Matki Boskiej Sianowskiej do kościoła w Wilnie. Były też liczne spotkania, wywiady, zwiedzanie – opisuje Eugeniusz Pryczkowski.
W uroczystościach przekazania figury wzięli udział m. in. przedstawiciele stowarzyszeń działających przy parafii w Wilnie, w tym Wilno Heritage Society, czyli organizacji powołanej specjalnie w celu zachowywania kaszubskiego dziedzictwa.
