Mają być wygodne, bezpieczne i szybkie – mowa o 10 pojazdach szynowych które bydgoska Pesa wyprodukuje i dostarczy Pomorskiej Kolei Metropolitalnej. Wczoraj podpisano stosowną umowę. Wartość zamówienia to 114 mln złotych, z czego 70 milionów to pozyskane przez samorząd województwa pomorskiego unijne dofinansowanie. Wagony mają być przystosowane do obsługi osób niepełnosprawnych, klimatyzowane, wyposażone w monitoring wewnętrzny i zewnętrzny oraz sieć bezprzewodowego dostępu do internetu. Składy będą mogły jeździć z prędkością do 120-u km/h. To największy jak dotąd zakup taboru dokonany przez Pomorski Urząd Marszałkowski, ale też dotyczy największej inwestycji transportowej tego samorządu. Trasą Pomorskiej Kolei Metropolitalnej będzie można pojechać z centrum Gdańska do portu lotniczego w Rębiechowie, a dalej do Kartuz, Kościerzyny i Bytowa. Linia ma być otwarta w połowie przyszłego roku. Postęp prac będzie można ocenić w tę sobotę, podczas Dnia Otwartego PKM. Odbędzie się on w okolicy przystanku PKM Gdańsk Strzyża, który powstaje przy pętli tramwajowej na ulicy Wita Stwosza. W godzinach 10:00 – 14:00 zwiedzający będą mogli wziąć także udział w ogromnej kolejowej grze planszowej, zbudować z odpadów własny unikalny pociąg – oraz wygrać bilety na pierwszy przejazd PKM.
