Sporządzenie map poprzedziły konsultacje w w Trójmieście i Redzie. Właśnie tam trafi 90 procent wszystkich rowerów w ramach najnowocześniejszego w Polsce systemu.
– Będzie to duża zachęta by korzystać z jednośladów, np. w drodze do planowanych węzłów przesiadkowych – uważa burmistrz Redy Krzysztof Krzemiński.
W imieniu 14 gmin wybuduje go Stowarzyszenie Obszar Metropolitalny Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot. W naszym województwie powstanie łącznie ok. 7800 stojaków, z których mieszkańcy będą mogli wypożyczyć blisko 3 tys. 900 rowerów. Pierwsze rowery metropolitalne mają być dostępne jesienią przyszłego roku, a reszta na wiosnę 2019. Umożliwia to umowa na unijne dofinansowanie podpisana w ubiegłym miesiącu opiewająca na ponad 17 mln zł. W Redzie po konsultacjach do listy parkingów roweru metropolitalnego dopisano stację nr 7 obok przystanku MZK przy Obwodowej i Olimpijskiej oraz stacje 16 i 17 przy dworcu. Przesunięto też bliżej osiedla stację nr 8 w Miejskim Parku. Mapy stacji we wszystkich 14 gminach opublikowano na stronie Stowarzyszenia Obszar Metropolitalny Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot.
