Księdza Władysława Miegonia uczczono na konferencji w Pucku
Był kapłanem, żołnierzem, wychowawcą i patriotą – księdza komandora podporucznika Władysława Miegonia wspominano w sobotę na konferencji w Pucku. Zorganizowało ją Towarzystwo Upiększania Miasta Pucka z okazji 75 rocznicy śmierci patrona Polskiej Marynarki Wojennej.
– Na Kaszubach zapamiętano go także jako przyjaciela i wychowawcę młodzieży – mówi spokrewniony z duchowym dyrektor Muzeum Marynarki Wojennej, Tomasz Miegoń.
Władysław Miegoń był kapelanem Komendy Portu Wojennego w Pucku a później w Gdyni. – Brał udział w zaślubinach Polski z morzem, był uczestnikiem wojny Polsko – Bolszewickiej i drugiej wojny światowej – dodaje Danuta Dettlaff z Towarzystwa Upiększania Miasta Pucka. Ksiądz Władysław Miegoń zginął 15 października 1942 roku zamęczony w obozie koncentracyjnym w Dachau. 18 lat temu beatyfikowany przez. papieża Jana Pawła II stał się pierwszym w Polsce i Europie oficerem i marynarzem wyniesionym na ołtarze.
