Krzysztof Celestyn Mrongowiusz patronem 2014 roku w ZK-P
Jeden z pierwszych badaczy języka i kultury Kaszubów – Krzysztof Celestyn Mrongowiusz – będzie patronem 2014 – tego roku w Zrzeszeniu Kaszubsko – Pomorskim. 19 lipca przypadnie 250 rocznica jego urodzin. Mrongowiusz pochodził z Mazur, ale swoje życie związał z Gdańskiem i Kaszubami. Był duchownym ewangelickim, filozofem i językoznawcą. Zajmował się zbieraniem pieśni mazurskich i kaszubskich oraz wszelkich dokumentów w języku kaszubskim Sporządził program badań dotyczących Kaszubów, przygotował między innymi mały słownik kaszubski. W latach 1826-1827 prowadził badania ludoznawcze w pobliżu Słupska, głównie w Cecenowie i Główczycach. Chcemy pokazać długą tradycję badan nad kaszubszczyzną – uzasadnia wybór patrona – prezes Zrzeszenia Kaszubsko – Pomorskiego Łukasz Grzędzicki. Z okazji roku Mrongowiusza Zrzeszenie przygotuje cykl wydarzeń promujących tę postać. Dodajmy, że bogaty zbiór ponad tysiąca książek zgromadzonych przez Mrongowiusza jest w posiadaniu Biblioteki Miejskiej w Gdańsku.
