Nie będzie elektrociepłowni w Kościerzynie – przynajmniej na razie. Inwestycję planowaną na ten rok wykreślono z budżetu miasta. Inwestycja miała kosztować 13 mln złotych – z czego niemal połowę miało pokryć dofinansowanie z Narodowego Funduszu Ochrony Środowiska.
Elektrociepłownia miała być częścią ogólnopolskiego programu KAWKA, którego celem jest m.in. zmniejszenie emisji szkodliwych substancji do atmosfery. – Póki co inwestycja nie zostanie zrealizowana, stanowiłaby zbyt duże obciążenie dla budżetu – wyjaśnia burmistrz Kościerzyny Michał Majewski. Według burmistrza do tematu budowy elektrociepłowni być może uda się wrócić w przyszłym roku.
