Kontenerowiec – MSC Maya wpłynął do terminalu DCT Gdańsk
Do terminalu DCT Gdańsk wpłynął największy na świecie kontenerowiec – MSC Maya.
Statek ma 396 metrów długości, na pokład może zabrać 19 tys. 224 TEU, czyli standardowych, 20-stopowych kontenerów. Jednostka należy do armatora MSC i po raz pierwszy cumuje w Gdańskim porcie. Kontenerowiec obsługuje połączenie z Dalekim Wschodem, wypłynie z Gdańska w niedzielę wieczorem lub w poniedziałek rano. Maya ma przypływać do Gdańska średnio co dwa miesiące.
Pod koniec roku do użytku ma być oddany nowy terminal kontenerowy T2, dzięki czemu DCT w porcie w Gdańsku podwoi swoją zdolność przeładunkową z obecnych półtora mln do trzech mln TEU rocznie. Całkowity koszt inwestycji to ok. 200 mln euro.
