Kończy się budowa jednej z najważniejszych inwestycji transportowych na Pomorzu – Pomorskiej Kolei Metropolitalnej. Zakres dotychczas wykonanych prac spółka ocenia na 86%, termin zakończenia budowy minie z końcem kwietnia. Potem planowane są odbiory i we wrześniu uroczyste uruchomienie linii, która ma ułatwić i przyspieszyć połączenie z Trójmiastem dla mieszkańców głównie Kartuz i Kościerzyny.
Pomorska Kolej Metropolitalna będzie liczyć łącznie 33 km. Na jej trasie zbudowano 17 wiaduktów kolejowych, 5 wiaduktów drogowych a także 4 kładki dla pieszych i 15 przejść i przepustów pod torami. Pasażerowie do dyspozycji będą mieli 11 przystanków. Pociągi na tej trasie będą osiągały prędkość do 120km/h. Z opublikowanych dzisiaj danych wynika, że w trakcie budowy przeprowadzono 58 tysięcy badań laboratoryjnych, wykorzystano łącznie ponad 55 tysięcy metrów sześciennych betonu a przy budowie obiektów mostowych wykorzystano 7 mln 300 tysięcy kilogramów zbrojenia. Pomorska Kolej Metropolitalna będzie oddana do użytku we wrześniu 2015 roku.
