Komisja Europejska reguluje połowy ryb w Bałtyku
Komisja Europejska reguluje połowy ryb w Bałtyku – nawet o 15% spadną kwoty na dorsza, więcej złowić będzie można śledzia. Takie zmiany zawarto we wniosku dotyczącym uprawnień połowowych na rok 2014, jaki przygotowuje właśnie Komisja.Regulacje mają za zadanie zabezpieczyć stada i wprowadzić zasady Maksymalnego Podtrzymywanego Połowu tam, gdzie jest to możliwe. W przypadku dorsza kwota na stado zachodnie zmniejszy się o 15%, kwota na wschodnie stado – z którego korzystają kaszubscy rybacy – ma być ograniczona już tylko o 7%. Śledź w stadzie zachodnim też nie ma być tak często odławiany – jednak w przypadku stada centralnego kwota zwiększy się o 59 %, co daje w sumie 143 500 ton. Połowy łososia mają utrzymać się na zeszłorocznym poziomie, kwota na szproty ma spaść o 11%, a na gładzice o procent 12. Proponowane przez Komisję Europejską kwoty są oparte na danych naukowców, między innymi Międzynarodowej Rady Badań Morza. Przez wiele lat limity nakładane przez Unię na takich danych się nie opierały – od tego roku wdrażane są jednak zasady zrównoważonej polityki rybołówstwa. Kwotowy wniosek zostanie przedstawiony na październikowym posiedzeniu Rady ds. Rybołówstwa, a zasady w nim zawarte mogą obowiązywać od 1 stycznia 2014 r.
