Kaszubi z Kanady – nasze serce jest tu, nasza ziemia i krewni
Nasze serce jest tu, to nasza ziemia i nasi krewni – mówili ze łzami w oczach Kaszubi z Kanady, którzy wczoraj przybyli na Kaszuby. To 12-osobowa grupa potomków Kaszubów, którzy w 19. wieku wyemigrowali za Ocean. Wczoraj oficjalnie powitano ich podczas uroczystości w Baninie.
W Kanadzie mieszka najprężniejsza kaszubska emigracja, głównie w prowincji Ontario. Część z nich wciąż mówi po kaszubsku, mają swoją organizację kaszubską, swoje muzea i kaszubskie święta. Od 2008 roku regularnie przyjeżdżają do swojej „tatczëznë”, by odwiedzić miejsca swoich przodków. Wczoraj do Banina przybyła 12-osobowa grupa ze swoim liderem Dawidem Szulistem. Kaszubi z Kanady wezmą również udział 4 lipca w Światowym Zjeździe Kaszubów w Redzie, a 5 lipca podczas uroczystości w Sianowie Zrzeszenie Kaszubsko-Pomorskie przekaże im replikę figurki Matki Boskiej Sianowskie Królowej Kaszub.
