Jubileusz 50-lecia istnienia szkoły świętują mieszkańcy Nowej Karczmy. Jej uczniowie w ubiegłym roku osiągnęli 8 wynik w województwie w wynikach edukacyjnych. W obecnym Zespole szkół działa przedszkole, szkoła podstawowa i gimnazjum. Uczniowie mają do dyspozycji klasy integracyjne i sportowe. W placówce prowadzone są też zajęcia z języka kaszubskiego, choć gmina leży już na pograniczu kaszubsko – kociewskim. Na uroczystość jubileuszową zaprasza dyrektor szkoły Dariusz Męczykowski. Spotkanie odbędzie się w najbliższą środę. O godzinie 9 zaplanowano mszę świętą, po której odbędzie się uroczysta akademia i zwiedzanie szkoły
